Beware the Lindbergh Abduction

The Lindbergh Abduction is when a Dow 30 company has exceptional earnings and the futures are up big time. Then suddenly, some ne'er do well stocks come along and force the Dow into negative territory. That has happened six times in the past 20 years. Typically after such an event, the Dow is down 4.8% six months later. Only 20.1% of the time is the Dow up six months later. In addition there are 20% more head and shoulder formations during that time period and twice the Abduction has triggered a Black Swan. Just sayin'.
