Off the top of my head, I don't believe the market has experienced a 30% decline over the past 10 years. Many of today's investors have not been in the market for 10 years, so I can understand why the above response was given.

My guess is that the lack of a 30% correction during the last 10 years just increases the likelihood of a correction in the next 10 years.
