Good post, Pancho. I've been following a similar strategy for the last two years. My only differences/additions are to include some emerging market ADRs if they are simple businesses that are obviously cheap in my long portfolio, to use the Schwab index funds instead of spiders, and to run my net longs at closer to 80% as I am young and have a high risk tolerance. I also sell options from time to time to fine tune some of my positons.

Even with my less than 100% net equity exposure, I've outperformed the S&P by more than 40% over the last 22 months.
