Good question.

Basically, overclocking is a fools' game. A manufacturer specifies what the operating limits are for a given device, and that manufacture generally guarantees the performance of the device, under the conditions that those limits are not exceeded.

People who want speed but choose to overclock their slow systems should buy the highest speed Intel product - and run it "in spec" to get the highest performance. It will be worth the extra money knowing that it was designed and tested to work properly under those conditions.

My point in illustrating Anand's results was to corroborate Yousef's continued position that Intel's process technology has a lot more capability than AMD's.

Anand confirmed this with his successful operation of a Pentium MMX (0.35 micron process) at 290 MHz - at 2.8 volts.

If you weren't so hair-triggered to always blindly lash out at anything Intel, showing your deep envy and jealosy of their products and success, you would have understood the post I made to Yousef.

Ultimately, this "game" comes down to technolgy and successful implementation of that technology. And Intel is winning that game on both fronts.

Flame on, Ali - I can almost envision the veins bulging out in your temples - maybe you'll bust a gut one of these days!

K^6 - taking a big byte out of Sanders and AMD's balance sheet these days.
