Here is some quotes from the first article:

"But the reality is it might take a while. The company faces stiff competition and several daunting technological challenges in its quest to build good server chips using mobile phone processing cores."

Take a while and overcome limitations in processing speed and available software. Sounds like a lot of catching up to do. Intel had a thousand times more and couldn't get most to switch away from AMD64. Perhaps they might be competitive in less than 5 years for file serving, print serving and front end web serving, but I wouldn't count on it. As most here know, it is much easier to scale down than up.

So while talk and power point slides are cheap, having something real and competitive is hard. We will see if this is just another paper tiger.
