Acer expected to ship 3.2 million notebooks in August, say Taiwan makers

Acer shipped under two million notebooks in July 2010, much fewer than expected mainly due to inventory adjustment, according to Taiwan-based component makers.

As Acer shipped nearly 1.5 million notebooks in the first half of August, shipments for the whole month are forecast at 3.2 million units, the sources pointed out.

Acer has internally maintained its 2010 target shipments at 40 million notebooks, the sources indicated.
