Which to me is holding up surprisingly well.

Obama should be at 20% approval and 60% disapproval. The only reason why he isn't is because, like you said, Americans WANT to believe in him.

Even the Bentways of this nation will vote for him despite not being able to show exactly how he made a tangible difference. It's all about the image.
