Bob,
There is something to be said for not being a big talker. That is fine if you are not public. However, once public, you have a fiduciary responsibility to your shareholders which requires two things. First and foremost is to grow the company. Second is to get the word to Wall Street that it is happening. I cite Rentrak (a stock I have followed for many years) as a classic example of what happens if Wall Street dislikes the CEO and decides not to follow the company. The stock is sitting at 5 1/4 when it should be 10-12. Talking too much is not good either but if the CEO does not have the type of personality to "schmooze" with analysts and shareholders, the company should hire an investor relations person.
