Unfortunately, by the time the 56K game plan is figured out xDSL will have taken off. I own Pairgain and there was an article about US West not anticipating so much demand. I think 56K is dead. Maybe Ascend should merge with Pairgain. <<Message from pass pass on Nov 7 1997 10:57PM EST Cisco has not really hurt Ascend yet. Ascend was hurt by its CEO's miscalculation of 56k modem technology. Mory said in public that 56k was a non-event. Because of this strategic mistake, Ascend screwed up 56k game plan really bad. >>
