Jeff Greene Strives To Put Declining Polls, Yacht Stories Behind Him
Democratic Senate Candidate Proposes Payroll Tax Holiday To Revive Job Creation

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- As published reports detail more allegations of drug use on Jeff Greene's party yacht, the Democratic Senate hopeful makes a weeklong campaign push across Florida.

Wednesday, Greene had scheduled stops in Orlando and Gainesville before an evening teleconference call. He brushed aside talk of declining polls, saying at times he has been ahead in polling and then just a day later he fell behind.

A 'New Times' article that purports to be penned by a former employee on his yacht, details wild parties and drug use. Greene said he is unaware of the identity of that employee. "We have a zero tolerance for drug use," he said when asked about the allegations.

Greene offered more details on his promise of job creation. He suggested a "payroll tax holiday" which would give employers a year or more in which they don't have to contribute payroll taxes on a new hire. Greene said this would spur companies to hire more workers.
