Shares of the Proshares Ultrashort 20+ Year Treasury ETF (NYSE: TBT) are higher on the session by 0.95%, currently trading at $32.75. The ETF has been cascading lower over the past six months without abating as treasury prices sunk to record lows.

Options trading today suggests that rates are bottomed. The September $33 call was just purchased, on the offer, over 18,000 times; open interest on the strike is only 4,102 contracts. This signals new, bullish positioning.

The Proshares Ultrashort 20+ Year Treasury ETF seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses and interest income earned on cash and financial instruments, that correspond to twice (200%) the inverse of the daily performance of the Barclays Capital 20+ Year U.S. Treasury Bond index. The fund invests in derivatives that advisors believes should have similar daily return characteristics as twice (200%) the inverse of the daily performance of the Index. It invests typically the rest of the assets in money market instruments. The fund is nondiversified.
