612° in the shade

Don Surber

Skeptics of global warming now sat that annual contentions of another hottest year on record by NOAA and NASA are based on bogus reading by satellites whose sensors are faltering.

From John O’Sullivan on August 10:

<<< “Global warming data apparently cooked by U.S. government-funded body shows astounding temperature fraud with increases averaging 10 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit.” >>>

He showed one such map which he said came from a government site —

<<< “It would appear CoastWatch has removed the original image. Never fear, it’s shown here on the right” >>>

— that showed temperatures in Northern Lake Michigan that were as high as 612°.

Water boils at 212°.

The reading came in a portion of the lake that was covered by clouds.

Indeed, there has been a degradation of America’s satellites as money meant for the space program has been diverted to social services over the decades.

From Suzanne Bohan of the Contra Costa Times on August 8:

<<< “When Stanford climate scientist Christopher Field looks at visual feeds from a satellite monitoring deforestation in the Amazon basin, he sees images streaked with white lines devoid of data. The satellite, Lansat 7, is broken. And it’s emblematic of the nation’s battered satellite environmental monitoring program. The bad news: It’s only going to get worse, unless the federal agencies criticized for their poor management of the satellite systems over the past decade stage a fast turnaround. Many, however, view that prospect as a long shot.” >>>

The story did not mention 612° readings.

O’Sullivan is calling it Satellitegate.

I call it more BS from the government.
