So I'm OK with a portfolio entirely made up of short positions. But there should be something in the rules that says a short postion should not be taken in order to benefit from a large dividend payout, or something like that. In other words, you should really have a bearish view of the stock, you shouldn't just try to capitalize on the fact that the game doesn't include dividends, and therefore short a stock that is about to pay out a large dividend because you expect the share price to fall after the dividend is paid out. As long as that understanding is in there, we can just rely on the honor system.
