If you listen to the entire conversation on Laura's show, you will notice that it was the caller who first used the word. When Laura used it later to give her some advice, the caller took offence for Laura's use of that word. And I ask why.

My take: if we are to stops it's use and teach our children that the use of the word is a "No, no", then it's use should be stopped altogether. It is not a "black thing" and hence OK for blacks to use it.

tejek; I have a problem with both the white and the black community to have taken the issue to ridiculous lengths. NOw some may say that similar problems exist elsewhere in the world. But this is America, is it not. We have and keep telling the world that we are the best, have the best political system, have the best freedoms etc. etc. Hence we cannot have these race issues linger, if we are to "show" the world that we are the best.
