On the other hand, perhaps the vision DOES have merit. INTC mgmt is the 800 lb gorilla in the space. They likely have something on the ball.

The claim is that the number and sophistication of cyber security threats are increasing, and that hardware chip fixes could provide better security than a straight software solution.

I like to think they've done some due diligence before shelling out 7.68B. Whether McAfee is the right move, time will tell. But at least for me, it doesn't sound as stupid as Time Warner buying AOL.
