I don't subscribe to the theories of the right or the left wing on this. But none the same, people should not expect someone to make a decision just based on observations without understanding the entire picture. I once watched a hour long episode on NATURE where they showed photographs of the icecaps now and how would look like 200 years later with the melting ice caps. And then I see cyclical events like the once-in-400 years eruption if the Icelandic volcano etc. etc. and I wonder where are these cyclical events of nature in the models. I ask if we pulled out of the Ice Age because of humans burning carbon based energy or was it the normal cycle of Nature.

We saw the myth of Y2K and how this was ruse for the industry to make money. We had all sorts of "doom and gloom" Y2K scenarios. Nothing happen. We ushered in New Year's 200 as well as New Year's day 2001 without any incident. So this global warming theories and scenarios put forth by both sides continue to be a myth.

I have been on various threads on Si and followed the discussions by both camps. I tool the liberty to express where I stand on this issue after you raised it. And just like you said that "..you didn't care or not if it is my thread" and you went ahead and expressed your views, in the same vein, I knew of your views on this and "I didn't care about your views.." but instead, like you expressed mine.

We are on opposite sides, that is expected in a situation where expression of thought and making a informed decision is the norm. I think we should let it rest here, unless you want to have the last word on this issue. If so, be my guest. There is no need to break our heads over this particularly when we both have been on the same side on other issues.

Cheers.
