That may be the case, who knows what is inside a man's heart.

I think his actions in regards to things that matter personally say a lot. Like being married by a notorious anti-Semite, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, to whose church he belongs. He got a pass from the voters on this.

I agree that he is an opportunist, like all pols, but even opportunists have a set of core beliefs. He has said that he does not consider Wright's church controversial. He stumbled and waffled when asked about Wright's giving an award to Louis Farrakhan. If you'll recall, he considers Wright his 'spiritual mentor.'

Wright is a bad egg.

There is a lot more, but I think it is a fairly easy thing to show that O! is, if not necessarily an anti-semite, an ally of them.

There is a lot of material suggesting that high US military leaders seriously question whether a raid on Iran's nuclear installations would be successful. These pros may well be correct, it is definitely possible that a raid would not be effective. I think that O! will take this advice, and refuse to go after the Iranian nuke facilities. That he is predisposed against Israel in the first place clinches it for me - the US will not strike Iran alone and will not engage in a joint strike with Israel.

And that is one of the biggest reasons why I think Israel will go it alone.

The other is far simpler to deduce: Israel has no choice but to strike.

There will be in my opinion an Israel-only strike on Iran's nukes whose success is not necessarily a given, but which will cause global chaos. The timing is iffy, within a year to 18 months I should think. Plenty of time in which to prepare.
