Everything seems to get converted to chronic diseases these days. Even cancer, which was previously about cure/no cure, is now about long-life treatment to keep it down. The increasing chance of getting chronical illnesses by age, is one of the main reasons that a dutch study recently said that obesity isn't expensive, simply because obese people die younger, while non-obese people need life-long treatments. But it is interesting to see how they are considering a fundamental change of the socialised health care structure as a result of chronicalization.
