Re: Six Mobile Game Vendors Sue KongZhong.com

LOL...Lahcim, thank you for posting such great news! Here's the punch line:

The companies' class action suit was accepted for review by the Haidian District People's Court of Beijing, which will be heard by the court on August 25. Each company is seeking damages of CNY 200,000, for a total CNY 1.2 million in damages.

CNY 1.2 million or about USD 200,000.00 --nothing to write home about, huh? Then again, I wasn't kidding when I said it's GREAT NEWS... because companies --just like people-- usually don't shoot at losers and dying lame ducks!

I don't know the intricacies of that lawsuit --and don't want to know them! All I understand is that it shows everybody that KongZhong is a dynamic, aggressive WVAS company that doesn't flinch at bending the rules... Heck, KongZhong gave its customers free access to games or internet services from other companies... Big deal! I hope millions of Chinese youth benefited from the bargain! And I'm confident that CEO Leilei Wang will find a mutually advantageous settlement with the plaintiffs... Internet law is in such a flux nowadays --especially in China.

Greetings from Brussels,
Gus
