Chris, as my previous post suggested, I don't believe Rupert Murdoch has any commitment to the U.S. or anyone else -- IMO, he is driven by financial opportunity, not any desire to help America. If he sees it to his financial advantage to partner up with bin Laden himself, who is to say he wouldn't do it?

I don't see any of these wealthy bastards as benefactors for American freedom. Whether you're talking about Murdoch or Ted Turner it is all the same. Their only commitment is to making the next billion.

It has nothing, as far as I can tell, with the content on FNC. Murdoch is selling FNC to the American Public, recognized a market that was ready for news content that wasn't liberally biased, and created an organization that could deliver it.

Had he decided instead that he could make more money with something to the left of MSNBC he'd probably have done that instead.
