Larry if the market will percieve that the congress does not understand the importance of Free Trade - Fast Track, and there is a bona fide opposition to open markets and a sniff of protectionism the stock markets around the world will colapse - the big K. I just do not belive that people are so narow minded and it will take several hundred DJIA points to bring the needed votes. Remember same workers hve their 401K and pension funds in stock. Repeat of a severe economic hardship all over the world will bring not only missery but also a serious chalenge from various minority terrorist groups who will try to size the opportunity. As to Saddam, I think he will be unsuccesfull in spliting the Western World, and hope that finaly there will be found a solution to elegantly eliminate him from power and have a more democratic regime in Iraq, even that the next problem will be Iran and Pakistan, two Islamic fundamentalits countries with expansionist dreams.
