Apparently even arid areas have wildlife. I learned about this when I visited Valley of Fire national park just outside of Las Vegas.

But I figure that if environmental regulations can hold up even solar plants, that's a sign that the environmentalist movement is less about sustainability and more about holding back human progress. Can't do anything without impacting some species of wildlife, whether plant or animal.

It was the same feeling I got with the Snake River dams, although having fish chopped up in the turbines does kind of suck.
