While we are waiting around for RNTK and TX to make an announcement, perhaps any lawyers on this list, or others, could entertain us with projections of what a RNTK JV with TX would look like.
From what I gather, RNTK and TX are looking to form a separate entity on a joint-venture basis. Where RNTK would have an interest and TX would have an interest. I can compare this to Trico, a steel minimill made up of three JV partners. LTV and British Steel supply the capital and Sumitomo provides the technology. I guess in our case RNTK would provide the technology and TX the capital. Pretty obvious, but anyone with more detailed forecasts why not post.
I've been asking around about this RNTK / TX deal. Technical analysts don't like trend RNTK stock is making and believe it will go down lower. However, this really isn't a surprise given the fact it could even be after Christmas before a deal is announced.
Also, someone told me to compare RNTK to SOLVQ, which went bankrupt. I can't find a record of this company. Supposedly SOLVG was a GTL company that was looking for a JV and went bankrupt. Who knows anything about SOLVQ?
About the likelihood of a JV. I argued earlier that a JV was more likely to go through than not because it would cost TX almost nothing to ensure itself an alternate technology. However, this friend of mine pointed out the of large companies beauracracy get in the way of this kind mentality. Forming a deal with RNTK, this friend argues, would be too risky for a middle manager to sign off on and pass on to the next level. No $60,000/per year middle manager wants to OK something that could fail and pass it on to the next level.
This friend also pointed out that this conference was nothing but hype. I argued the internet was and still is hype, but look at Netscape. In my opinion, I believe there are too many vested interests in GTL technology to let RNTK fail. But then again, I am inexperienced and not knowledgeable about such matters.
I think we need a lawyer with oil expertise to comment on this. I think we already have one. TokyoMex and other lawyers, what is your take? Thanks.
