THE OPINION: Barclays Capital analyst Michael Lasser said executives told analysts at an informal meeting this week that they also expect the lawn and garden category to be strong this fall "due to increased demand for restoration as a result of damage from the excessive heat over the summer." They all seem to love HD - amazing Lowe's Cos. Inc. is matching its prices better to competitors and expects the appliance category to be strong the rest of the year, an analyst said Friday. Now wait a minute - Lowe is cutting prices or are they actually raising prices to match competition.
