Hi Mike,
Gulp!:-( So from a technical standpoint, Mrvc would be effected from this short range G.E. problem. Trying not to always look at only positives of MRVC but this will effect ALL companies in this tech sector. However, MRVC still has many opportunities to increase it's earnings by focusing on those companies around the world that have been using outdated networking equipment and would see much improvement in Fiber technology. Possible reason for focusing on the low end until short range problem is worked out? By focusing on this market to take advantage of low end needs NOW (where there is a huge market, at this point in time) and also developing new technology for the future needs, seems to me,IMHO, to be the best thing MRVC can do (at the moment). Just a silly example but there was a tremendous market for floppy disks before cd-rom and other mass storage capability was developed. A better example would problably be CPU developement. At one time, 386 technology was a tremendous step up in performance for the graphic sector (signist). Intel made alot of money taking care of the needs for this time era, while continuing to develop, faster, better performing cpu's, motherboards, etc., etc. I know you know all this but MRVC has developed a wide assortment of products for this market and has shown they have the expertise to develop advanced products and get it to the market before most, at a competitive price. I would like to think Intel would not have invested in MRVC if it thought they didn't have some edge in this market. Having said this, Intel has announced it's intention to go all out to develop networking technology. Not knowing the actual terms of the agreement between MRVC and Intel, I'm not sure how much MRVC will benefit from it's association with Intel. So try not to feel too bad for those of us that do have a relatively large investment in MRVC :-) Although I wouldn't have minded selling my shares when you did and bought right back at 25-1/2.:-( Thanks again for your technical expertise and you are still willing to share it with us. Now, I didn't have to insult you to have this little debate and please feel free to point out where you think my point of view may be weak or whatever.
