I just called Hughes DirecPC at 1-800-DirecPC. Sounds really neat!
You go to Sears or CompUSA and buy the dish kit which includes everything you need to get hooked up. Has an ISA card that goes inside your computer which hooks via cable to the dish.Gotta have a Pentium.By the way ,you can get the dish for just the computer (DirecPC) or the dish that will do both PC and DirecTV called DirecDU0.It cost $300.00 for the DirecPC.The dish is setup pointing towards Texas automatic by software. They are offering a $100.00 rebate and NO activation fee ($50.00) if signed up by DEC. 31. There are a couple of plans....You must still have your regular ISP for uploads to the satelite. I pay $19.95 now for ISP and with this unit , it will only cost $11.95 per month more (plus the original cost of the dish). I plan on picking one up today...Give me some time to hook it up and I'll let you know how it goes. Only thing is, I don't really like to go up on my roof ! If you don't see me online shortly, you can bet I'm in the hospital !!
