Look like Steve is saying that if the DOW is 8300 in January Compaq will be at 100. If the DOW is only 7900 in January he thinks CPQ will be at the 80 level.

Jim, what Steve says makes sense, but ther are two IF's! If we hit 7900 and 8300!! I am not as smart as some of the mavericks we have on SI with capacity to read curves and use the fine instrments of the
today's finance. I have been an investor since 1972 and my gut feelking is that by Jan. we will see 7900.( By Jan.we may not
see 8300 as the grouth is slowing is slowing down we will not be seeing those past earnings again.

One other factor that comes into the play is that the Feds may reduce the interest rates in second part of 1998 if the grouths cools off too fast.
So, my friend Jim, I wish I had a magic bowl!
