I agree with most everything you said. Perhaps there is hope that some day the onerous policies, regulation, and tax system will eventually be recognized by more of the political class as being the real cause of current high unemployment.

And IMO the development and use of our own energy resources should also include insitu development of shale oil, development of ANWR oil, and Gulf and offshore drilling to develop whatever oil supplies remain.

I am a believer in peak oil, eventually, but also believe that the ultimate production peak can be put off for decades, allowing time for the infrastructure and technology to be created to power our transportation needs 50+ years from now.
