I feel the same way about Simmons. Another kind of bizarre thing he got involved with toward the end was his Ocean Energy Institute. The plan was to build giant windmills offshore of Maine and produce ammonia, which would then be used as a transportation fuel. O.K., maybe this idea is truly visionary, but I think we are at least 20 or 30 years away from needing to run our cars on ammonia.
