Peru Copper Output Rose 6% on Cerro Verde Mine, Government Says

Peru’s copper production climbed 6 percent to 106,465 metric tons in July on gains at Freeport- McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc.’s Cerro Verde mine, the government said.

Gold production dropped 19 percent to 12,703 kilograms because of declines at mines operated by Barrick Gold Corp. and Newmont Mining Corp., the Energy & Mines Ministry said today in an e-mailed statement.
