If it's also true that most plans have telephone-switching features now, then I think the pressure on "long-term" equity investing could be severe. Additionally, I read in another Barron's article this weekend that conventional margin debt is the highest percentage of GDP since the 1920's. In declining markets, debt is always the bugaboo.
