Gary, as far as the MMs are concerned its always been my experience that they are most famous for buying low and selling high. I have read many sad stories about investors caught on MM induced stock runups and left high and dry on the quick depreciation on the selloffs. My theory is to never buy in on a run-up unless you are already positioned in the stock. As long as they are legally allowed to pull these type of things, it pays to get in before they do and sell before the stock tanks. Bad for the company but you have to admit many company insiders have left the investor high and dry also.
