Chas,you are correct about this front not clearing your area but this is not the front that were depending on. The front that is heading our way is whats called a "back door front" they call them this because they move from north to south instead of west to east. This front is currently over New Brunswick Canada.It has slowed due to an extremely strong High pressure to its south. My thinking is Earl will start a slow weakening trend sometime tomorrow as it will be sucking in some bone dry air into its core.My hope is that if it should hit the NJ and LI coast it will have weakened to a CAT 1 or minimum Cat 2.It could just say its had enough dry air and just steer itself off shore for better atmospheric conditions.I HOPE!~
