Problem with that prescription is that EMPLOYMENT is among the *most* lagging of economic indicators (lagging FAR BEHIND industrial expansion!)

Yes, almost always behind, and far behind is common enough.

The point is though that we aren't in bad economic times becuase current consumption levels are too low, what is low is investment. So the whole argument that "a tax break 'for the rich' doesn't help because they don't spend the money" is rather silly (it would be even if spending was still in a deep decline, but its much more so when the current reduction in economic activity is a reduction in investment)
