I checked several PC venders and none of the sub $1k boxes they had contained a modem. So even though CPQ along with the other box makers on the following list taken from k56flex.com install k56flex modems in their boxes, their low end boxes do not contain a modem. Compaq Computer Corporation Digital Hewlett-Packard Company IBM Sony Information Technologies Toshiba Corporation I went to the x2 website but couldn't find any info. about which box makers support x2. Does anybody know what DELL uses? I bet it's k56flex. My question is: If all the box makers are installing k56flex, and that's what your new PC contains, are you going to shop for an ISP that supports what you already have, or are you going to throw out your k56flex modem and go out and buy an x2 ? Since the x2 modems aren't selling well, apparantly consumers are making the choice to stick with what comes in their box. The more new PC's containing k56flex modems are sold, the greater the demand for k56flex ISP support, and the greater the demand for ASND RAS. OK all you ASND shorts, tell me WHY I'm all wrong here.
