Are you prepared to show a close-to-majority headcount for a BBA? I doubt it, and that's even counting people who say they would support it only because they think it makes good politics and they don't expect it to actually even come up for a vote.

Yes some of the support for making tax increases more difficult is a cynical political tactic (although probably not mostly a tactic related to the BBA in anyway), but the same could be said about some of the support for the BBA.
