Sonus Pulls Out Of Conference, Stirring Up The Speculators
By Eric Savitz

Sonus Networks (SONS), a frequent subject of takeover rumors, spiked today as work filtered out to the Street that the company canceled a planned appearance at a Kaufman Bros. research conference.

TheFlyOnTheWall.com notes that Avian Securities pointed out in a research note that the company said it pulled out of the conference due to “resource availability.” Avian observes that the company’s board is meeting soon to choose a new CEO, which might explain the decision not to speak at the conference.

Or maybe Cisco Systems will buy them, which is what bulls on the stock would like to believe.

SONS today jumped 31 cents, or 10.4%, to $3.29.
