Experience on SI with big stock declines: I have many times watched a stock thread on SI turn very negative and sour based on how the stock price behaves. If the stock is down a lot or down big as WDC is, people post every evidence as to why not only is it bad, but it is getting worse and the bottom is just going to drop right out. Analysts are quoted, warnings are made, bearish analysis is posted, dire rock bottom lows are predicted and often the small investor sells scared to death reading all of this. Then the price jumps up big. Nobody ever comes back and says a thing about how wrong they were. All the bulls come out of the woodwork because for the most part, posts on a thread mirror the price behavior. It is the rare post that deviates and they are often correct.
