>apocalypse is nigh, you prepare for it
No that's only the wingnut rapture ready crowd (i.e. the Religious Right).
>People who believe, truly believe that an environmental apocalypse – be it through increased temperatures, a rise in sea levels, or super-hurricanes — is imminent,
Nobody says it's imminent as in next month, however in 50-100 years time, the Earth is not going to be a nice place to live. Now however, we've had super hurricanes, massive flooding, out-of-control wildfires, massive heat waves, etc., etc.. The denialists are denying any link of these to AGW and that's pathological pattern of denial coming from that sect. These are signs of an "apocalypse" to use the denialist terminology (only the denialists are using the word "apocalypse"). To bolster their "case", the denialists are going around exaggerating claims by the AGW science community, that's clear. That's bald-face lying to a "T". |
