I'm sure you've said this before, but for reasons that are undoubtably a failing on my part :) it hasn't sunk in.

Echoing back what I think you're saying....you feel the continent should be laced with an abundance of optical fiber, with equal access (however that's defined, is something "X cents per gigabyte-hour" etc ok?) to all, much like a modern version of the old post office. And whatever inefficiencies result from the "socialized" running of this network will be more than offset by the explosion of relatively unfettered economic activity that will be enabled by this egalitarian network...?

Do I have that about right?
