PC replacement trend for enterprise market to appear in 1Q11, says Asustek

Asustek Computer vice president Kevin Lin has commented that most enterprises recently started to finish their budget planning for PC replacements, and are expected to start in the first quarter of 2011.

Asustek was the ninth largest PC brand worldwide in the enterprise market in 2009 and advanced to the seventh largest in the first half of 2010. With demand in emerging markets such as China and Russia expected to turn strong, Lin expects the company to rank number four in 2011.

HP, Lenovo and Dell are currently the top-three PC brands in the enterprise market worldwide, while Acer, Toshiba, Apple and Asustek are number four-seven with each having a shipment gap of only around 100,000-400,000 units.

In Taiwan's enterprise market, Asustek is the largest brand with 45% share in the desktop segment and about 30% share in notebooks noted Lin, adding that the company is expected to ship 600,000 notebooks and Eee PCs combined in Taiwan in 2010, with 20% being enterprise models...
