Do you have any doubt that the CO2 concentration has been increasing for many decades
No. (No doubts, not "no it hasn't")
and can be determined for thousands of years?
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this part.
If you mean it can be predicted for thousands of years than I disagree. If you mean that we can determine CO2 from the past I agree but don't understand the point your making.
If so, what do you think is the consequence of the increase??? No consequence?
All else being equal more CO2 in the atmosphere will lead to the planet being warmer but
1 - Warmer isn't necessarily worse, at least if its not too much warmer or to rapidly warmer, warmer can be better
and 2 - All else isn't equal. Even those pushing the idea that we need a massive near term response to the threat of global warming generally agree with this point, they just think the other factors work in the same direction, seeing the feedback as overwhelmingly positive.
If you just look at the predicted degree of warming from the extra CO2 its no big deal. Its the theories about the feedback effects from this relatively modest amount of warming that predict more serious trouble. OTOH even they don't usually predict what I said that I see no evidence of ("that the world is in very recent years getting warmer, or alternatively that the last few years are just a short term blip against the trend, and soon the world will resume getting warmer, and not just warmer, but much warmer, and that human emission of CO2 is the overwhelming cause of this waring, and that the warming will cause disasters like those shown in Al Gore's movie, but that if we institute cap and trade, or a carbon tax, we will prevent the disasters, and at the same time only cause minimal harm to our economy") |
