Even if conservatives gain both the House and Senate in November, a lot of economic doom is already baked in the cake. The piper will be paid regardless of all efforts to prevent it. We're in the midst of a financial Katrina and we know how controllable hurricanes are.

The single most important thing to be done in this country over the next few decades is to elect people to office who will assure the appointment of Supreme Court judges who are true objectivists. The Constitution and the Rule of Law must be made relevant again. This is one of only two reasons I voted for McCain (who I can't stand).

The other reason was the inexperienced, amateur poseur who beat him. No one in this country was blindsided by Obama. His record was there for everyone to see - his resume would fit on a damned business card. Rather, many were "dumbsided." They didn't take a critical look at this Marxist piece of work. Complacency about the quality of hoped-for "change" shows how uncivic-minded people have become, not really knowing what's going on in the civic arena before voting ("Well, he can't be any worse than Bush!").

What has been so discouraging about all this is that responsible, informed voters have been dragged down an economic blind alley by a community organizer who'd do his on-the-job training as a president of this country - by the consent of the "dumbsided." How low the standards of the U.S. citizen have become.
