What happened in 2000 - 2002 when the Internet bubble collapsed? Many companies crashed in price, many went bankrupt. Among those that survived, many became giants, and doing well.

What would happen if the government would decide to "support" the prices of all those companies, and throw some "stimuli" at them?

That's what they are doing now with RE, financial institutions and many businesses. Will this help the economy? More likely, it will hurt it. And the out of control growth in debt will hurt all of us, and for a long time.
