Hard for me to believe he would have enough confidence in accounting records of Chinese small caps to make significant bets with these.

From what I know of Dr. Burry's M.O., he probably has zero confidence in the accounting records of any of these. It's a perfect arena for him to play in: with his ability to grasp detail and marshal evidence, he is well suited for separating the few grains of wheat from the mass of chaff. He also has the wherewithal to pay to have documents translated from their native language (assuming he doesn't learn the language himself)

I expect him to do quite well with this, but I wouldn't want to try it at home.
