I fail to follow your logic. Ben Nelson has been bought and paid for by corporate America forever.

What the dems are telling Obama is go forward with the tax cuts for everyone under $250,000 and then force the Republcians to stop the bill because it does not have tax cuts for the very rich.

That gives dems something very simple to run on whereby most people can see they are having their tax cuts held up by the Republicans, until they get their tax cuts for the rich.

It also shows the Republicans are in bed with the very rich.

That is a nice debate to have on the hustings e.g. to a Republican apponent: "so you are willing to stop the tax cuts on the middle clasas until you get tax cuts for the very rich"?
