" Perfect example. The surge failed in its most important goal. While it did stabilize things to an extent, Iraq still hasn't managed to form anything like a government. Obama set a deadline and has pulled the plug. And, like any politician, did his best to spin it as a positive. "Bush, for example, is no more responsible for the bad economy than you or me. Responsibility rests squarely with Bill Clinton (whether you blame the housing crisis or lack of derivative regulation, Clinton did it)" Bush had a lot more to do with it than I did. I can't vouch for you. While the seeds were planted under Clinton and even earlier, all the way back to Reagan, Bush made sure that those seeds were watered and taken care of to the point that things blew up at the end of his watch. He does shoulder that blame.
