Metacomet;

I think he [Krugman]just wants us to manage the economy in a way that will alleviate suffering by economically disadvantaged Americans.

Oh my goodness who doesn't want that! I most certainly have empathy for disadvantaged Americans as i have been there. My argument is there is no magic as krugman seems to argue. My belief (and this goes way back to arguments discussing Austrian economics) is that what the economy needs is not more stimulus but some vision for the future that will soak up the excess unemployed. It is my belief that just throwing money into the economy only prolongs a recovery. So argue that point if you want, but don't argue that I don't want to alleviate suffering as that is just nonsense.

Krugmans suggestions are primarily to return the economy to the nonsense sponsored during the last administration.

That's exactly what he wants. How can you claim otherwise? He wants to stimulate spending so that the economy is roaring back to the hosing boom days. Well Paul Krugman, that building in housing and the use of homes as an ATM machine for unlimited spending by some is not returning.
