Up till the time I went to college I believed nukes would solve our energy problems. But as a physics major in college my opinions changed. No offense Eric, but I'm curious where you studied physics? The only major reason that nuclear power hasn't solved our energy problems is because of regulatory interference and NIMBY policies. Granted, there are problems with nuclear waste, but I believe they are overstated. But Thorium is a far different "beast" because it produces almost no waste, and can actually consume, and dispose of, plutonium and other nuclear wastes. For this country to develop either an electric, or hydrogen based economy, it's going to require cheap electricity, and a lot of it. Nuclear, including thorium, is the only viable solution until Fusion power becomes feasible. Hawk
