A liberal on another thread trotted out that Christian - Muslim moral equivalence thing again and I got outraged by it. I'm gonna repost my response here where I think posts that are 'too Christian' aren't viewed negatively.
I've really getting tired of these false moral equivalences and the world's walking on eggshells to protect the sensitive feelings of MURDEROUS MUSLIM SAVAGES while ignoring the crimes they commit.

Thats a BIG lie and everyone knows it. This thread has seen posts reporting examples of Muslims burning Bibles and ransacking churches and murdering Christian aid workers. Here's a story from Gaza three yrs ago:
Father Manuel Musallem, head of Gaza's Latin church, told the AP that Muslims have ransacked, burned and looted a school and convent that are part of the GAZA Strip's small Romany Catholic community. He told the AP that crosses were broken, damage was done to a statue of Jesus, and at the Rosary Sister School and nearby convent, prayer books were burned. ..... Father Musalam additionally told The Jerusalem Post that the Muslim gunmen used rocket-propeled grenades (RPGs) to blow through the doors of the church and school, before burning Bibles and destroying every cross they could get their hands on.
There was no violent reaction from Christians, in this country or worldwide, over this story -- its a shame but there was no reaction at all. Muslims have murdered Christian aid workers within the past month or so in both Afghanistan and Pakistan - people who were providing medical care and flood relief. There has been no violent reaction from the worlds Christians. Thats good, but again, unfortunately, few even notice this routine and seemingly accepted martyrdom of altruistic saintly servants of the poor by cutthroats and thugs. Christians ought to call attention to these things, to remember the martyrs and honor them, as well as to call for an end to these monstrous crimes against both God and man.
You should be ashamed of making this false argument that Christians are just as bad as the Taliban when its clear to everyone that its not true. False moral equivalencies actually serve the cause of the Taliban types by draining away the outrage their actions should invoke. Even this preacher in FL is not the moral equivalent of people who would shed blood. He is a provocateur and publicity hound, irresponsible, certainly, but he doesn't have blood on his hand nor is he calling for it. And no, even if Muslims kill people because of his stunt, which notice EVERYONE expects to happen, the blood will be on the Muslim killers hands.
Tell me, why does the world think its not even worth paying attention to the murder of saintly servants of the poor while going crazy over a publicity seeking preacher of a tiny church?
Is it that the world EXPECTS MUSLIMS TO BE MURDEROUS SAVAGES? EVEN FELLOW MUSLIMS?
Meanwhile, I think the routine disparagement of Christians by liberals who set the tone in our society and much of the world, creates a condition where the murder of Christian aid workers is seen as nothing, not a crime even worth mentioning ... so what, they probably had it coming, they shouldn't have been there ..... blah blah blah.
The faces of ten Christian aid workers murdered in Afghanistan:

In this combination of photos from various family and organizational sources, the ten civilian volunteers who were killed in Afghanistan on Thursday, Aug, 5, 2010, are shown. From top left, Glen D. ------------------- Its said the blood of the martyrs was the seed of the church (it was true in the Roman empire though it took a few hundred years of martydom) .... in an earlier age, Christians remembered and honored their martyrs, which is partly why you see so many Saint this and San that names around. I pray that someday Afghanistan will see schools and hospitals and churches bearing the names of the martyrs listed above. |
